About the Buzios
The city receives currents from Ecuador from one side and from the South Pole on the other side what makes some beaches have warm water and others cold water. Between the main beaches, detachs Geribá, João Fernandes, Ferradura, Ferradurinha, Rasa, Manguinhos, Tartaruga, Brava and Olho-de-Boi,this last one is reserved for nudism practice.

Ecologic walks through Emerências Reserve

IEBMA - Instituto Ecológico Búzios Mata Atlântica (Buzios Atlantic Forest Ecologic Institute) organizes ecological walks through the Emerências Reserve, with several trails, such as the one that goes to José Gonçalves Beach or the one that leads all the way to Peró Beach. The groups generally leave from Caravelas Beach (at Búzios Megaresort) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Use good tennis shoes, light clothes and take sunscreen and plenty water to drink.

Excurtion in Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo

A Cabo Frio is surrounded by waters with good visibitily and rich in species of fishes and corals; the same streams which come from Antarctica and cool down the water brings nutrients which help marine life strive. Besides diving, visitors also go to the old lighthouse (2 hour walking) and to the Gruta Azul (Blue Grotto), a cavern with walls 15 meter high which turns shades of blue when the sunlight comes in (access to the grotto only by boat, only during low tide).

Several vessels leave from Armação Beach, downtown, normally in the morning and early evening with prices from a little money per person, for rides that go by several beaches and islands in Búzios. The rides take between 2 to 5 hours, depending on the ride you choose.
