The Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses) is located in Maranhão state, in northeastern Brazil, just east of the Baía de São José. It is an area of low, occasionally flooded land, overlaid with large, discrete sand dunes. It encompasses roughly 1000 square kilometers, and despite abundant rain, supports almost no vegetation.

Nice place just outside town. Ideal for joining the boat trips to Cabure as it is close to the river. The rooms are small cabins, pretty basic but clean and with a small porch and hammock. There is a TV and mini bar in each room and the rooms are air-conditioned.
Other than drinks you can only get breakfast in the hotel. For all other meals you need to go into town (about 3.5kms away) or you can go to Bambae which is a restaurant down by the river.
